Be Equipped to Share the Gospel
The Gospel is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). At Bright Hope, we believe in and value the Great Commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. We believe this begins in the lives of individual believers as they live out and communicate the Gospel in their own spheres of influence.
Part of the purpose of the local church is to equip believers to always be "prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect" (I Peter 3:15). This hope is the Gospel of Jesus Christ...it is the hope for all the world. Greg Stier provides a simple way to articulate the Gospel:
- God created us to be with Him
- Our sin separates us from God
- Sin cannot be removed by good deeds or religious actions
- Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again
- Everyone who trusts in Jesus alone for forgiveness has eternal life
- Life that's eternal means that we will be with Jesus forever
