Music is a key ingredient to worship.  Music can stir our souls to know Him more, it can convict us of sin, it can draw us to Him, it can draw others to Him, and God loves to hear our praise and adoration through music! Because of these and other reasons, music is an integral part of what we do at Bright Hope.
Whether you are an instrumentalist, a vocalist, or a sound/light/stage technician, there is a place for you to serve on our Worship Team.  The first prerequisites are that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and that you are striving to be faithful to Him.  For more information, click on the Worship Team Covenant link below.

This page of our website is dedicated to the musical aspect of worship at Bright Hope.  It is intended to be a resource center for members of our Worship Team. Look here for schedules, music, material to download, links to various sites...If you are a member of the Bright Hope Worship Team, then you can use the following link to get the info you need. We are all wired with a need to worship, and we all do worship someone or something. We all have different pulls from so many different directions, but the sum of all of these pulls pales in comparison to the pull of Jesus Christ on our lives.  Some feel it more strongly than others - some are extremely sensitive to God's direction in their lives - others have allowed "idols" to take the place of Christ in their lives - and others have not yet experienced the life-changing power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Where are you in your life? Who or what is the object of your worship?

At Bright Hope, our purpose is "to introduce people to Jesus Christ and to assist believers in becoming passionate followers of Him." Notice the phrase "followers of Him". We are not desiring for people to become passionate about a certain style of music or a certain way of "doing" church - we truly want to see people become passionate followers of Jesus Christ - to love Him deeply and to worship Him fervently. We strive to live out our passion for Him in every part of our lives.  Music is simply one of the avenues that God has created for us to express our love to Him and to bring glory to Himself. We enjoy good music, but we are careful to make sure that music is not the object of our worship, but that Jesus Christ is.
We have chosen the name “facedown” for our worship team.  Why?  First, the encounters that men had with God in Scripture always resulted in a posture of facing the ground.  In I Samuel, we even see an idol - the false god, Dagon, “had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord.”  Also, as we serve on the stage, we want no recognition, no honor, no glory coming our way - in our hearts, we desire a facedown posture of humility where we desire all glory and honor and praise be directed to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

If you are looking for a place where you can come and experience who God is and what He has done through His Son, I invite you to come to Bright Hope. We would love to have an opportunity to meet you and grow with you. It is a humbling privilege to worship Almighty God, the Creator and Redeemer of mankind and also to lead others to His throne in worship. We would love to have you join us sometime very soon!
"When we face up to the glory of God, we find ourselves facedown in worship."    -Matt Redman
